Bees Reflection
Hi i'm Omari and this is my reflection about Bees. This term extension has been learning about bees and how they are surviving and dying. We heard that Bees are so important to earth because of many things.
Today the 3rd of December a beekeeper had come in to talk to us about bees. Her name was Rosemary and she showed us beehives with bees in them and larvaes. She also showed and talked to us about Varroa mites, nectar, facts about bees and life and more.

Kawau Island
Have you ever been to Kawau Island? Do you know how to get there? Well you have to take a bus then a ferry or a Helicopter? At Kawau island there is a camp called Camp Bentzon which has heaps of activities including an obstacles course.
My most favourite activity at Kawau island was kayaking. I loved kayaking because I always was with the teachers because I was fast and good. When I was kayaking I tried to look for stingrays at Stingray Bay but sadly I saw none.
My other favourite activity was sailing. I really enjoyed it and it was in the water and I love the water. My favourite part was pulling the rope and tiller to the sail. I was great and fast at sailing and I had a race which at the start I was losing but at the end I was winning.
I also went hiking. I enjoyed it because I kept slipping and when I went down the hill I was running down fast and couldn't stop which was so much fun. What I really loved about hiking was being with my friends and also being the fastest which meant we got more free time.
I can’t wait for the next camp. I won't be at Pt England school next year. I’m going to Howick Intermediate. I wish I could go to Kawau Island again for two weeks.
-------------------------------------------------
Description: This week we have been writing a recount about Kawau Island/Camp Bentzon. We had to have a Intro, three body paragraphs and a conclusion. Our three body paragraphs were our two and one favourite activity's and story's.

Adaptation
WALT: define adaptation
An adaptation is a mutation, or genetic change, that helps an organism, such as a plant or animal, survive in its environment. Due to the helpful nature of the mutation, it is passed down from one generation to the next.

My own words of adaptations
I think adaptation means survival. Because animals and plant survive in the Antarctic, desert and more by adapting.

What I think about the fear factor challenge
|
This morning we had watched a YouTube video called Fear Factor. It was scary and disgusting because two people were eating blood worms with maggots and rat hair chips. Now it’s time for room 6 Fear factor. I can’t wait, I want to be the chosen one.
Description: Today we had to write a introduction and a planning of fear factor. In our introduction we needed to have heaps of detail and write about one main thing. My main thing was the food was disgusting which u can probably see in my introduction in the second sentence.

Egg friend race
On monday room 6 had an egg race. We buddied up with someone, and had an egg race with other kids at the senior park. We were all excited and really competitive.
When we got our eggs we drew their faces and named them. Our egg was called Omariz Jr and he looked ruth and cool with a scratch on his face. We came up with the name Omariz Jr because we mixed our names Omari and Mubz so we thought of Omariz Jr. He was born on Monday the 21st of september 2015.
After we named our eggs and drew their faces we walked to the park. Well we were walking to the park we were excited and nervous because we didn't know where we were going. Some of us were really nervous because we had to hold onto the eggs but Omariz Jr stayed in my pocket.
When we arrived to the park everyone was pumped and excited because we found out we were having a egg race. The rules were we had one person on each side and we had to walk on the playground and get the egg to our buddy with a spoon and they had to do it back to the side I was on. Some people cracked their eggs luckily when I dropped it because I was speed walking it didn't smash only cracked.
When we finished our egg race and were heading back everyone was happy and crazy. Once we got to class we had to give our eggs back but the ones with cracks had to go in the bin because they would smell and rot. We were acting emotional and sad but we were just joking, next time I want to do a remote controlled helicopter test.
